The remainder the of the series is being cancelled for want of a venue. I am equally saddened and embarrassed by this turn of events. As I told many of you, I thought my landlord at the speedway was going to weather the storm, and did not want to appear disloyal or ungrateful if I started looking for an alternative when I knew he was on the ropes. I also was confident that the facility owners would listen to the community and let us keep going. Despite the best efforts of the Wilkesboro TDA, the mayor, and even Terri Parsons, Speedway Motorsports is unwilling to allow us access to the property. Furthermore, despite all the help I have received from many of you, as well as several very generous offers to chip in money, I can not find an alternative venue that will be safe, fun, relatively easy to access, and financially feasible to rent.

I have emailed the season pass holders regarding issuing refunds, and greatly thank all of our sponsors for their support and understanding. I hope to see you all again at one of our future events.

The chairman of Speedway Motorsports (TRK) is not interested in working with us.

I will talk to all of our sponsors and season pass holders and make a decision regarding the remainder of the series this week.

The lawyer needs to get approval from the chairman, but they had a race at at Louden las week so he’s been unavailable. She is going to try to get back to me today.

I talked to the NWS ownership (Speedway Motorsports) on Monday and expected to have the green flag by now but no word, so no go for tomorrow but we _should_ be okay for next week.

No race this week – I am still working on the Speedway, and I am also looking at moving the series to the Dragway or the Oakwood Complex off Brushy Mountain Road. Thanks for your patience, fingers crossed we’ll be racing again next week.

NO RACE TONIGHT – I just got word that Speedway Associates has closed down. Pending figuring out who now runs NWS, the series is on hold.

Congrats to the Nance’s for taking home three of five Capo leaders’ jerseys awarded for Series Two. Joining them were Travis Beane (Clemmons Bicycle) – who is still missing his SRAM S30 wheelset from May 18 – and Lynn Berry (Painpathways).

Series Three kicks off this week, and that means we are now offering a Masters’ 40+ race at 8:00PM, and are awarding a Capo jersey to the category winner for both Series Three and Four.

Updated Series Two points standings and Week Three results are posted – take a look at the James E Good CPA Men 4/5 and Women 3/4 results, because, after the top handful of finishers, the remainder are simply listed in the order you registered.

This week Capo Leaders’ Jerseys are on the line. Richard Nance is leading the Open AND the Blood Sweat and Gears Cycle & Skate Men 3/4 and Robin Nance is leading the Women 3/4s. Will it be a Nance family sweep?

After nearly a year and more than 50 races since our last crash at the Speedway, we had a bad pile up last night. Only one guy is seriously banged up, but luckily no critical injuries, and the other three people got away with nothing more severe than road rash. Thanks to everyone for triaging the wounded, keeping the racing going, and helping me clean up afterwards. Results are posted, however, the James E Good CPA Men 4/5 and Women 3/4 results are going to need your input; please email me to confirm you finish spot, or if you retired. I will wait until the beginning of next week to update the season standings
